Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Research in Psychiatric Rehabilitation

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation offers three post-doctoral fellowships in research in psychiatric rehabilitation funded by the National Institute of Disability Rehabilitation Research. Fellows will conduct research in collaboration with the Integrated Employment Institute, the Center for the Study of Recovery, and the RRTC Collaborative on Community Integration. Research topics include supported employment, consumer-operated services job retention, natural supports, illness self-management, and wide range of community integration applications. Fellowship are expected to be 1 year in length and include participation in ongoing research, the continuation and/or initiation of an individual research program and supervision and teaching of pre-doctoral students and participation in seminars.

Qualifications – Eligible applicants are individuals who have earned a doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, rehabilitation, nursing, medicine, occupational therapy, or any other field with applications to psychiatric rehabilitation. Knowledge of psychosocial research and statistical methods and strong interest in conducting research in psychiatric rehabilitation required.

Salary and Benefits – Salaries are per NIH/NRSA guidelines based on years since attainment of degree. Benefits include health insurance (individual or family) and life insurance.

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College’s Rochester Campus is actively seeking applications for a non-tenure-track, clinical assistant professor to teach in the Mental Health Counseling Program and to serve as the Program Director. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or closely related field and current licensure as New York State Mental Health Counselor. The successful candidate should have significant graduate level teaching experience, as well as clinical and clinical supervision experience. Responsibilities include teaching a wide variety of graduate-level courses. 
The college is beginning a new master’s degree program in Mental Health Counseling at its Rochester Campus, which will provide academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults and classes are offered in a weekend format. Responsibilities will include teaching courses at the graduate level, recruiting, administration of the program, advising, engaging in professional development activities, and providing service to the College.

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College is actively seeking applications for a non-tenure-track, clinical assistant professor to teach in the Mental Health Counseling Program and to serve as the Clinical Internship Coordinator of that program at its Rochester Campus. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in Mental Health Counseling, advise/mentor students, provide service to the graduate programs, the department and the college, as well as serve as a clinical supervisor to student interns. The successful candidate will also develop affiliations with human service agencies and programs in and around Rochester, New York, and assist Mental Health Counseling students in securing clinical placements.  This is a twelve-month position.  An earned doctorate in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or related field is required. The successful candidate must be either New York State licensed or license-eligible in Mental Health Counseling, and have at least three years of clinical and/or teaching experience.

APPLICATION INOFRMATION:
The School of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Mercy College seeks a full time faculty member at the assistant or associate rank in Counseling for nine months, with possible summer employment. Duties include teaching graduate courses in Counselor Education, committee work, participating in academic advising, administrative assignments, college service, and promotion of the program and college.                                                                                                        .

 The ideal candidate would possess a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and have at least three years teaching experience at the graduate level, but a Doctorate in a related field will be considered. Professional experience in school counseling, holding School Counselor Certification, competency in working with culturally diverse populations and familiarity with the ASCA Model and CACREP 2009 Standards, and Blackboard or equivalent on line instructional software are preferred.
